Btw, since make believe, which had some great songs, I've loved 3 weeper songs - ruling me (Hurley), miss Sweeney, and pig (deluxe red). I also really like ain't got nobody off the last album. Point being, new album has more songs I love than previous 4 combined.

This is their best record since Maladroit. I really like roughly half the songs. The opener is fantastic. The drum sound suuuuuuucks.

I don't like it as much as the last album but it's pretty strong for a late-period Weezer album.

Rivers really sings his ass off on this album. Front to back he kills it.

Can you guys suggest, like, a 10 song "Best of Weezer Post-Green Album" compilation.

What are the diamonds among the shite?

Thanks.

I'm gonna put aside Maladroit because I think that entire album is good. Probably better than Green.

I think this flows really well:

01. The Angel and the One
02. California Kids
03. Eulogy for a Rock Band
04. Peace
05. Trainwrecks
06. Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori
07. The British Are Coming
08. Hang On
09. Foolish Father
10. Pig

(No Raditude either because fuck that album)

Jorge has a good list. I'd replace a couple of his with I've Had it Up To Here and Run Away.

'This Is Such A Pity' is my favourite post Maladroit track.

(Admittedly I haven't heard anything from Red, Raditude or Hurley though)

Thanks guys! I'll check these out for sure.

Blue & Pinkerton would easily make my favourite records of all time top ten. I enjoy most of Green, though it's clearly no where near the first two records. After that, I just lost patience. I seem to remember trying Maladroit out, and finding it a bit laborious. As for after that? Anything I hear just makes me wanna barf - so I was really hoping there must be good stuff somewhere - especially as critics seem to have been a little nicer to the last two records.

I'll let you know how i get on!

Ok - first listen review. Angel and the One and Trainwrecks in particular stuck with me. Gonna give it a few more listens. Then I might branch out to some of the other recommendations.

01. The Angel and the One

Epic. Awesome.

02. California Kids

Excellent.

03. Eulogy for a Rock Band

I REALLY don't like when Weezer go all "nostalgia" and talk about the good old days. Also this is kinda forgettable.

04. Peace

Big tune.

05. Trainwrecks

Excellent song.

06. Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori

Love it - gorgeous melody.

07. The British Are Coming

I like the middle 8 here, but the chorus is hella annoying. Not sure I'm big on the EWBAITE material.

08. Hang On

Cool.

09. Foolish Father

Cool.

10. Pig

Nice ending.
