When you say to your girlfriend "Hey let's run off behind a tree, dribble off those Bobby Brooks let me do what I please" and she responds with "Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone", is that considered consent? |

Google Play Music is really bad at recommendations. "Since you like Red House Painters, you might like..." |

Think I figured it out. Pretty sure Google confused her with the NYC indie band Ida. |

The part in the new Taylor Swift song where she goes "The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Because she's dead!" is laugh-out-loud hilarious |

The new Thirty Seconds to Mars song is so fucking bad, it's comical. Super generic music, cheesy lyrics, chanting choir. It's time they replaced Nickelback as the poster child of terrible alt-rock. |

Is that Jared Leto's band, or Rushmore kid's band? |

The band consists of Alex Greenwald (vocals, rhythm guitar), Darren Robinson (lead guitar), Sam Farrar (bass guitar) and Jeff Conrad (drums). The band is best known for its track "California", which became the theme song for the TV series The O.C.. The band featured actor Jason Schwartzman on drums until 2003 and continued to release well-received albums in his absence. They opened for No Doubt for the summer 2003 tour and I went by to see the band afterwards and have them sign my CD. I did not know that Jason had left the band so when the drummer signed my CD I was more effusive in my praise than the situation warranted. Found out about it a few weeks later (maybe months?) and was so embarrassed for myself. What a maroon.
On November 25, 2008, the band announced in a blog entry on their website that they are going on "hiatus, and will not be playing any more live shows or making any new records, indefinitely."[1] They played their last pre-hiatus show on December 12, 2008, in Los Angeles, but have since reunited for handful of shows. |

I take it August/September is a big music release window? Seems like all my favorite bands are releasing stuff right now. |

When I listen to something like I Only Have Eyes for You, I feel like our generation's music was a punishment. |

I wanna know how your first draft starts with something as awful as... Singing the blues when the Red Sox lose, it's a crisis in your life. On the run 'cause all your girlfriends wanna be your wife. And the laundry ticket's in the wash. ...and your second draft is as good as "making your way in the world today takes everything you've got..." |

Listening to Hold On by Tom Waits right now. And it's amazing how much better that song is than just about damn near everything in the 90's grunge tournament. |

For some reason I tend to really like songs where the bass line mirrors the vocal melody |
