If you record a gig in the Disney symphony hall in la you can’t release it as a live album due to intense union rules and if you do you have to pay them a massive cut of any sales from it.

Maybe his later stuff? But peak Sinatra was a wonderful emotive singer who could inhabit the songs and convey a lot of nuance. I'm thinking of performances like "I Get Along Without You Very Well " and "One For My Baby", not a huge fan of the swingin' stuff
yeah, you're right, he does sound great on those older ones

Mad stuff.
Sigur Ros played there with the L.A. Symphony last year and continue to stream it and make it available online. Is that the same thing?

"Those older ones" is a too vague a term when referencing Sinatra -- the guy made music for almost 60 years, and the songs Jorge is referencing are 15 and 18 years into his career, respectively.
Sinatra's Capitol output (1953-62) is one of my favorite sustained bodies of work in all of recorded music. I can understand it feeling antiquated to some, but "lazy" is about the last adjective I'd use to describe his singing; it's some of the most nuanced, carefully navigated interpretive singing I've ever heard.
His work on Reprise is considerably spottier, but hardly "lazy." He owned the label, so he had the luxury of indulging his every impulse, and not every experiment worked and not every session was inspired (though many did and were -- he recorded a lot for Reprise), but if you listen to "I See It Now" or "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars" or even his 1974 recording of "Send in the Clowns" and think this is a man phoning it in, I have no idea what to say to you.

plus he never lost that jersey accent when singing.
and i never gave a shit about the rat pack.
what I like about Frank's recordings has almost nothing to do with Frank: outstanding composition, lush instrumentation and lively performances (including Frank), exemplary production qualities.
but as for frank, my takes always been: nice pipes, and he sang like he didn't give a fuck, but his persona never grabbed me

probably a loophole if they aren't monetizing it. or, i bet they share the ad revenue.

It occurred to me after watching the Offspring's "Original Prankster" video, in which a kid tricks his dad into eating a dog shit sandwich, that this was surprisingly not the first instance of canine coprophagia in the Offspring catalog. There is a song called "Don't Pick It Up" on their "Ixnay on the Hombre" album in which a child mistakes a dog turd for a candy bar and eats half of it before getting sick.
Are there any other mainstream bands who have multiple instances of canine feces consumption in their body of work?

Speaking of odd lyrical choices:
Quote:
If you think of her as Joan of Arc She's burning for you, get your car out of park If you think of her as Catherine the Great Then you should be the horse to help her meet her fate
It's pretty random to have a love song reference something like what (allegedly) happened to Catherine, especially like that.
Also I should probably post BNL in the thread about bands you like but don't want to post about.
