It's amazing how Gilby Clarke is now less gross than Wayne Coyne.

Wait, are you guys confusing Gilby Clarke with Gibby Haynes? LOL.

80s Butthole Surfers is the ONLY way to go.

Locust Abortion Technician and Hairway to Steven or GTFO

yeah that's who I meant. But it's also sort of amazing that any of the GnR guys are still standing.

I really, really liked the Butthole Surfers when I was a kid.

I liken them to the Meat Puppets, a great, great band that was lured into a major label deal during Grunge, then went to complete shit.

It's hard to blame them, people really like money.

I saw the MPs opening for SY on The Eternal tour, and it was easily one of the worst performances I've ever seen by a notable band.

I don't listen to the Meat Puppets enough.

Unrelated: What was Nitzer Ebb all about? I used to always get frustrated in CD stores when I'd get to the Nitzer Ebb divider in the used bins (why did Nitzer Ebb even have its own divider?) because that meant I'd made it through all the Nirvana titles and didn't find what I was looking for. Never actually listened to Nitzer Ebb.

Speaking of Meat Puppets, Aurora Borealis is a very good instrumental. I want to listen to II while driving through the desert.

Can we make that happen, ‘2death?

This exchange prompted a Meat Puppets binge for me. Well, really just an Up on the Sun binge. The Kirkwood brothers were bonafide virtuosos in the early 80’s. College rock’s own Steely Dan.

This single came out 20 years ago today. You're old. I meanwhile remain young and fresh. ("Oops!...I Did It Again" remains the superior lead single between her first two albums. Better bass line.)

Man. Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears really shit the bed.

yes, i understand they were never much to write home about to begin with. But Scandalous was a fun and sexy record. They also put on a great show.

The last few albums have been completely forgettable and this new one is that and even worse.

the opening riffs of "Dr. Feelgood" sound like an Alice In Chains song
