In my experience Scotland has a really good hit rate of great bands.

Juan Nelson, bass player in Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, passed away yesterday. Having seen him play many times, it saddens me to hear this - he was a really excellent and soulful bass player who will be missed. Damn.

Oh shit - I hung out with him and the band for a bit after one of their gigs here. Kept hounding me to find them some decent weed - I had no contacts back then..
