"Superhero" is pretty cool. Definitely sounds like Faith No More. The one thing I'm noticing, though, is that both "Motherfucker" and "Superhero" seem a little formless. Don't get me wrong; I like them both. But they kinda sound like jam sessions. Makes me wonder what the whole album is gonna be if these were chosen as "singles."

Love the album. Sunny Side Up is probably my fav right now, but Separation Anxiety, Cone of Shame, and Matador are up there as well.
Sol Invictus and From the Dead are perfect bookends. I just wish the album was longer.
Agree, it feel short. And yeah, the opener is classic FNM....and From the dead is turning into a favorite.
Cant believe Patton can sing like this....he sounds fuckin awesome.
I'm a big Cornell and SG fan, but Patton's voice sounds much better and cleaner at 50 than Cornell's ever did. It's really amazing how great he still sounds. The new songs seem really challenging to sing live as he intends, so I hope he doesn't wear down through this tour and start having vocal issues.
This release sounds like a real, true progression in their catalog. Not every fan is going to love it, but I think it's being very well-received. FNM didn't miss a beat.

Long time FNM fan here. Angel and TRT are my favorites but I can't stop listening to this beast of a record! It's at times different but experimental yet so fnmesque! Black Friday is the best example of this, can't get it out of my head. Matador is a monster and SSU is a hit single in waiting. Other songs of note are the Cone of shame and anxiety double! Especially Seperation Anxiety, that is up there within the best this band has produced. Don't know what else I can say, but that I'm pleasantly surprised that these bastards have come back in to my life after all the years! Welcome.
