I just found out that my family is taking me to NYC for vacation between 12/29 and 1/3...

So naturally, I thought I'd come to RM for help creating a soundtrack...

I'll start it off right:

Feel free to drop travel tips, too. We're planning to see Phantom on Broadway, Ice Skate at the Rock, hit Central Park, and the squid wants to eat at Uncle Jack's Steakhouse :D

No real references to NYC in the song, but give this one a spin while waiting for / riding the subway and you'll get it. It's just so perfectly New York. Also, works while walking around the Village.

Fare Thee Well - Marcus Mumford & Oscar Isaac (from the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack)

This one. Especially in the wintertime.

NYC has become a big part of my life in the last couple years. Going back in December and may be moving there eventually. When I'm just walking around the city, I tend to listen to a lot of John Coltrane and Beastie Boys.

D,T: All great picks, especially the Ryan Adams, S&G, and Elliott Smith songs

chud: Been listening to a lot of BB, but mainly The Mix Up... I can see that album alone being a good NYC walking soundtrack.

AB: At first, I thought I'd hate it... ended up loving it! Especially the words.

LMS: Damn, dude... I'm actually looking forward to NYC. That song's depressing as fuck!

Malice: I'm sorry that my subfolder location choice for this thread caused you anxiety. If there's anything I can do to ease the stress, just let me know, sweetie :)

This one kinda gets me all jazzed up...

Here's a good one for the end of the trip...
