Have you heard this, Veggie? I love the mix overall, but the cymbals seem a little washed out.
been awhile since i actively listened to this record, and it sounds like a fuckin masterpiece compared to the recent stuff. while there are clear indications here of the direction the band will go over the next 15 years, jimmy's presence all over these songs just makes it all the more baffling that billy chooses to put out music that minimizes his own fucking drummer. i just can't fathom being in a band with one of the most uniquely talented rock drummers ever and barely letting them play the drums. i wonder if jimmy regrets coming back to the fold in any way, or if the paycheck simply justifies doing whatever billy wants despite not utilizing him anywhere near the capacity he's capable of.
as for this mix, like i said i haven't listened to the original in a long while, but this is definitely tolerable and the reduced presence of the billy choir is notable.

The Butch ep was indeed great. I should clarify -- I don't much care for most of the guests. I like the part of each episode, usually to close things out, where Billy speaks at length about a classic song. This week was 'To Sheila', and it was awesome.
