Yeah, even Adore or Machina don´t have the warmth and feel that SD or MC. And im ok with the different sounds from every album, i appreciate that for sure.

I like "Zeitgeist" -- not nearly as well as anything pre-breakup, but considerably more than anything that's come since. Even when the songs aren't great, the rocking side of SP just appeals to me -- an inimitable sound.
Zeitgeist has some of the weakest production and mixing I've ever heard on a rock record. The vocals are at the forefront and are squeaky clean, and the guitars have an almost synthetic sheen to them. It's a stark contrast to the fuzzy warmth of Gish, Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie. It does have Jimmy's drumming, though. After all these years he's still my fav. behind the kit.
I agree. But im talking about the songs...And my first post was about James playing those songs and what he could add them.
Oh, yeah. 2/3rds of the songs you listed are bad, will not be helped in a live setting, and would be a colossal waste of a slot on the setlist.

I was feeling pretty down on this tour, the whole thing seemed kind of gross, but having now seen the videos from the shows, it actually looks kind of good in spite of everything. Jimmy and especially James seem like they're genuinely having fun, at least for now.
I've never heard Zeitgeist, I might try to find a cheap second-hand copy (it's not on Spotify).

The only haf decent song on Zeitgeist is United States. The rest is utter dreck, just like everything they've released since Adore.

It's Lightning Bolt all over again: Some really decent songs marred by atrocious production.

yeah, the sound they picked for the album is pretty weird, i get that Billy is hinting a more metallic approach for it, even in the songwriting but its still a very hard one to enjoy...there is warmth and the bass is pretty much buried.
The Celebration Rock pod did an episode about the anniversary of Siamese Dream and the Pumpkins current tour. If anyone wants to give it a listen. I enjoyed the conversation even if I couldn't at all agree or relate to the sentiments expressed.
