Don't feel bad about this.

Yeah, that doesn't seem like something to hide or be ashamed of.

when i first heard this new one by the war on drugs, i had the same reaction as when i heard the new national album (a "grower"). it's just that this one has grown on me so much more than the national's. it's probably my album of the year. that thinking of a place into in chains is one of the best 1-2 punches i've heard in a while.

I can't begin processing "album of the year" talk until after Masseducation drops.

I don't feel bad, just stating an opinion. Sounds like others agree!

These guys are playing a festival over here in january. I really want to see them, but I can't be arsed with the other bands on the line-up and ticket prices for the festival are pretty steep. Think I'll wait and see if they do any solo gigs

under the pressure and red eyes are a heck of a one two punch to start out an album

This is a true statement.

This one is growing on me much like Lost in a Dream did. I think it is a wonderful complement to the prior. This does feel more grand and ambitious though, pushing what they touched on just a little further

I tend to lean the other way, that the tracks are good by themselves, but lifted to something else when played as a whole

that's just my initial reaction as i've had the albums playing in the background at work

based on just a few listens i think i prefer lost in the dream though

On Monday two friends texted me that I needed to listen to the War on Drugs new album. Well, I'd never heard of the War on Drugs. Tuesday I walked to the library and picked up Lost in the Dream. Yesterday I put in the headphones and took a sunrise hike in the foothills, here in the front range, for my first listen.

Team, I am IN LOVE with the War on Drugs! This is exactly what I needed. My first thought was, LitD is a noise laden version of Dylan's Oh Mercy, my favorite Dylan album.

I can't wait to hear the new record!

Strat, I might see you at the Ogden!
