I enjoyed the first two tracks of the new record. But that's all I could get to before I had to do other stuff last night. Looking forward to listening to the whole thing.

this is kinda cd/mp3 you put on when driving late at night, fast on back roads... the rhythm never changes and its mesmerizing. I do get kinda bored just sitting there listening to their stuff though. having said that, they're top 10 bands at the moment.

so this album doesn't have the high highs (think that acoustic guitar part of in reverse at about the 5:15 part (that still gets me every time) of lost in a dream, but it doesn't have the low lows either (not that there are many). it's way more balanced and better top to bottom.

i've always heard dylan

Yeah - it's always been Dylan for me too.
I think I read somewhere that Adam Granduciel and Kurt Vile were both huge Dylan fans and would geek out on his stuff together all the time

This is one of the most emotive albums I've heard in a long time. It's so good.

Packing tonight for a weekend trip down to Oregon. Wife just now as I have War On Drugs playing:
"Will you stop listening to John Cougar Mellencamp and finish packing so we can vape and drink champagne."
