Never saw this before. How bizarre!

Yikes. Just a horrendous program. Are there any good television interviews of Elliott Smith? Or was nineties TV just an impossible mismatch for such a sincere guy?
Heck of a performance, despite the surroundings and the interviewer's bologna. Really touching

I couldn’t stomach that interview, had to scrub ahead after 30 seconds or so. The performance was wonderful; I love watching all the hokey pretense drop away as they realize how special he is.

Reminds me of when I saw his solo show in 2000. Packed room, like you could barely move. He starts playing and you could hear a pin drop.

Actually been listening to this album and Either/Or quite a bit the last few weeks, so the timing of the jump was perfect. Thanks tree.

I also came across this today, which was recently uploaded. 9 days ago. 2002 LA show. He's not in great shape, but there're some really great moments.

Same as trag, couldn't stomach the interview and jumped forward, but my oh my how good was it to see everyone in the room sit back and respect the performance.

You guys really should stomach the interview (I just... have no words. Some confused laughter. What's with the puppet?), to truly appreciate their genuine reactions to his music. Oh man.
