they played here last weekend...

quite a lot in the crowd didnt know what to make of them :D esp the black metal growls juxtaposing with crooning R&B ish/ new wave ish vox...and of course that dance

The early Eddie Vedder comparisons are fitting I think. Both extremely theatrical, overwrought, and ridiculous. This guy is probably in on the joke, unlike Ed, but he's also totally invested and sells it.

I saw them last night and they were OK. Maybe I wasn't as wired into the show as the rest of the audience but the rapturous applause seemed a bit out of kilter with the actual performance.
