I can't fathom that a collection of half-ass Bleach/Nevermind outtakes with a few slightly-uninspired "new" songs thrown in was the best Cobain could do. But I guess it was.
Yet people talk about it like it's a masterpiece.
Maybe I'm wrong, but man was it deflating hearing that album for the first time.
I remember thinking "this is it?" and that they wouldn't be lasting much longer.

I certainly existed as a Smashing Pumpkins fans at least through Mellon Collie (I was done after that). But I would still take the worst Nirvana album over the best Smashing Pumpkins album with only a brief hesitation for Siamese Dream.
