I agree in everything you said about Neil, but I’d add that the sheer volume, and the shifting plans and timelines, makes it difficult to know what’s essential. Not a big problem at the end of the day, but it’s a bit clunky (typical Neil!)
Understandable. There has been a lot of stuff.
That said, I think the only era that's really hit a saturation point is that late 60's/early 70's solo acoustic period (and all of those releases are good, but a non-completist can probably do with just one or two of them). And he's put out a few audience recordings, which may not be everyone's bag. But overall, I would expect that most fans would enjoy most of the Archives releases, assuming they're a fan of the period it covers.
My personal favorites are probably Way Down in the Rust Bucket (from 1990), and -- sleeper hit -- A Treasure, from the 1984 tour. "Grey Riders" just slays.

With all due respect to folks who just want to enjoy this release (especially if they spent $180 on it), I am surprised that any criticism about the sound quality of these shows would be considered overblown, fussy, or whatever else. That cheap phasey effect feels clear as day to me. I very much enjoyed Reading, Live and Loud, etc., as well, and have a pretty high forgiveness threshold when it comes to stuff like this, and I find these extremely hard on the ears (LA especially).

Yeah, really. Even the Hoffman forum is acknowledging it, and they usually think that everything "sounds fine".

Oh yeah. The Hoffman crew is teeing off on it. Maybe I’ll listen again more critically. Sucks to hear QC is like non existent. They AI’d the mix??
Yeah. They also added reverb, and some say that there has been some auto-tuning. Maybe they're trying to "wow" people with that shit like The Beatles are successful at. But the poor result speaks for itself in this case. The quality control has always been more or less non-existent since "Unplugged". Except for the 20th In Utero, their management puts these releases together and Krist and Dave have little to no involvement. But I think the kick in the nuts this time is the otherwise unavailable concert material and extremely high price tag. Though that one guy on the Hoffman forum doesn't seem to care and has made space on his shelf - hats off to him.

finished the LA show and i loved it. I might see some weird stuff on Kurt´s vocals in a few songs, but i really cant tell about the reverb or other stuff. Im going through a huge Nirvana phase, having recently listened to Live And Loud and Reading but i havent dive into boots and its been a while since i did that.

I never read that one is it cool?
Sorry VG, just seeing this. It's a great read. A chronological history that digs deep into the scene. Not an officially authorized biography, but he had tons of access to the band and it was written before Kurt died, so it's not colored with baggage besides what was actually going on.
Looking forward to this new annotated version that Azerrad is promoting now. It will be interesting to read his post-mortem on it all. Additionally, over the course of my own life, I've absorbed a ton of their influences myself, so it will be cool to go over it again now that I'm familiar with a lot of the other bands/people referenced. It's fun to just jump on a streaming platform and hear a Wipers album after reading about the much Kurt liked that sound, for instance.
Interesting, maybe they can use ai to substract guitars and vocals from 'talk to me' live take. Ai can enhance both and krist and dave can re-record their part. Blasphemy? Maybe. Will I buy it..probably.
