Fun Fact:
I attended the Bethlehem concert just before Unplugged was filmed. There are several audience videos and audio recordings available, more than any other In Utero concert it would seem, and for no obvious reason other than somebody offered the Lehigh Univeristy rent-a-cops some backstage refreshment while the bootleggers slipped inside. There is a multi-cam mix available if you are interested seeing Kurt in a completely foul mood, throwing his guitar down after the first song and having a miniature shit fit during Milk It because the monitors were feeding back. I remember when they played "Jesus" and everyone was like WTF is this? It didn't really sound that good in a huge echoey arena.
The next night, they played in Springfield and it was the funniest show of the tour, with all band members laughing and cracking jokes left and right, especially Kurt. Some of the hilarity made it to Side 4 of the "Wishkah" vinyl.
Watching/listening to those 2 shows back to back is a very bipolar experience.

I had a silver bootleg CD of that show, "Legacy of Noise" I think it was called. Played the hell out of that thing.
Yeah there were 2 or 3 bootlegs on that particular label and I bought them all in like 1996. One was the Chicago '91 soundboard with filler 4-track demos that you couldn't get anywhere else for a long time...and probably the source used for the "Drain You" demo on that shitty official box set. I still have 'em.
It looks like they put out some Pearl Jam too, and other diverse acts from the 90's LOL...

One of Nirvana’s weirdest, most whispery songs, complete with musings on the emotions of aquatic life, is a streaming smash nearly 31 years after its release — thanks to its use as a bellwether for Bruce Wayne’s emotions in The Batman. The Nevermind track “Something in the Way,” which was never a single, and never had a video, is trending on TikTok, and is currently Spotify’s second-most popular Nirvana song, right after “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” with streams up 1,200 percent. This week, the song managed to debut in Billboard’s Hot 100, at No. 46, belatedly becoming Nirvana’s fifth Hot 100 hit.

Kurt Cobain's Smells Like Teen Spirit guitar sells for $4.5M
Kurt Cobain's iconic 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' guitar has been bought for $4.5million by Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay.
A bidding war pushed the price of the left-handed blue and white 1969 Fender Mustang, which featured in Nirvana's seminal 1991 grunge anthem, to seven times its auction estimate.
Irsay, 62, worth an estimated $3.5 billion is one of the world's most prolific guitar collectors and has bought instruments owned by Elvis Presley, George Harrison, Prince, Bob Dylan and David Glimmer among others.
He said: "I am thrilled to preserve and protect another piece of American culture that changed the way we looked at the world."
Cobain’s guitar, case and strap was marked for $600,000 at Julien's Auctions, California.
The singer, who shot himself to death in 1994 aged 27 after a battle with heroin addiction, said of the axe in his final interview with Guitar World: "I'm left-handed, and it's not very easy to find reasonably priced, high-quality left-handed guitars.
"But out of all the guitars in the whole world, the Fender Mustang is my favourite. I've only owned two of them.""But out of all the guitars in the whole world, the Fender Mustang is my favourite. I've only owned two of them."
His estate said it will donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale to a mental health initiative run by the Irsays called Kicking The Stigma.
The auctioneers hailed the sale a "once-in-a-lifetime".
Darren Julien, chief executive officer of Julien's Auctions, said: "To have this legendary guitar, one of the most culturally significant and historically important guitars of Kurt Cobain and in all of rock music history to return to Indiana to be part of Jim Irsay's renowned memorabilia collection is a great honour and personal highlight of my life.
"This once-in-a-lifetime auction has been one of the greatest privileges in my professional career and I'm duly pleased that the proceeds will also bring much needed attention to mental health awareness."
Cobain's acoustic guitar from Nirvana's acclaimed 1993 MTV Unplugged session in New York previously sold for a record-breaking $6M at auction in June 2020.

"Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" is my all-time favorite concert opener by any band. I wish I could have seen them on this tour (or any tour, for that matter):
this version has the longer intro using the poly chorus! when you just google this on you tube a version comes up that has minimal intro and just goes into the song proper

Anyway, this '92 studio jam rips immensely hard:
this was great
and the best drumming i think i've ever heard from dave grohl
frankly, i didnt think he was capable of fills like that
the nirvana albums seem to lend themselves to simpler things
