Neil just announced some solo theater shows in mIlwaukee, madison, and Minneapolis. Just scored me seats to one of the minneapolis shows in January!

Wasn't expecting that today!

How much did they set you back? Did you have a presale code or something?

Few different ticketing options. I paid for the 150 seats. Row r on the floor. Top ticket price was $400. No thank you.

There were also $50 tickets available in rear balcony.

Got them through Neil young archive member presale. $$20 annual membership got you a presale code.

Also according to NYA - Mirrorball, Greendale, Broken Arrow, Le Noise are on "our vinyl list" so i assume these will be repressed and released soon

I think a LAL to the Neil Young catalog might be a good beginning-of-2019 project act of pure immersive delight

I did that with Dylan a few years ago but spread it out over 12 months. Still felt like I barely scratched the surface. I feel like Neil's catalog wouldn't be quite as intimidating, possibly?

Somewhat. Going in I considered myself a fan but at least 50% of the material was brand new to me.

Nice! Dylan's catalog took me about five years to get through, though that included a pretty deep dive into bootlegs and stuff too. Did you come away with any major discoveries during your exercise?

I know Neil's discography pretty well (minus the bootleg part) so this would just be a pure pleasure trip, though I am sure some new (re-)discoveries would result.

Last night I dreamed that on my bike ride I saw Neil Young as I crested the top of a big hill. The sun was setting behind him and it colored the sky in orange and purple. He was sitting on the ground, eating a sandwich and staring straight ahead. I said hello to him and told him that I was a fan of his music. He said thanks, and then told me that not a lot of people know this but that he is suffering from stage four cancer. After that revelation we both quietly admired the rest of the sunset before going our separate ways.

The born again years were the biggest discovery for me. I thought it was a joke, now it's probably my favorite outside of the 60s.

Those are the best years for his voice, in my opinion. The bootleg series box from last year is excellent.

I would be on-board with this. Start with Disc 1 of Archives Vol. 1, then Buffalo Springfield before getting into his solo stuff? Sprinkle in the live archive albums as you go through? We might get through the '70s by May.
