I posted this album in its own thread a while back, but since one of the members was in the Corin Tucker Band, I thought it might make sense to drop it in here. Hungry Ghost is the band. Sorry if it has been posted in here before, but I really enjoyed the album and thought you guys might too.

I had to play the waiting game for ages on ebay to snag mine for a reasonable price. It was so worth it though. Delicious.

I still have heard no new news on what band Carrie said she was back in the studio with WAAAAAAAAAAAY back last December? when she was on Letterman promoting Portlandia. I did see Portlandia is set for a season 4 however? and I did just see her AmEx commercial for the gazzilioneth time on MLB Network...
and a lil over a month from the new Quasi double disc... and speaking of Quasi, an official studio version of WAR PIGS!!!!!

I've come to terms with the fact that Sleater-Kinney may never get back together again, and I'm okay with that.
I just hope Wild Flag, Quasi and Corin Tucker stay active in the music scene here in Portland. It's been quiet here lately!
Why do you think SK will not be back together? They have broke up a few years ago....2006 was?
yeah, it was 2006. The longer it goes the less i see it happening. They went out on top and seemed okay with that. BUT...
Carrie did say she was in the studio... late last year so... shes recording with someone? so who knows
SG´s reunion took 13 years i think...SK can happen any day. They seem to remain friends so...
Yes, I don't think there's any bad blood between them: Janet and Carrie have played in Wild Flag (are there plans for a follow-up?), Corin had joined Quasi on-stage for a New Year's Eve show.
From interviews I had read, it appears that they were looking for different goals after The Woods (Corin wanted to record acoustic songs, without drums I think) and the last tours, especially in Europe from what I witnessed, brought their share of stress and internal tension. I think Corin wished to spend more time with her family, while the band was getting a lot of attention and praise for The Woods.
I am a big fan of SK, and was saddened when they announced the "hiatus", but I prefer seeing them touring with their respective bands (had a blast seeing Quasi, Wild Flag and the Corin Tucker Band) than forcing their way with a band and a name that is bigger than them. They might still reform one day, when they feel it is right, but damn, The Woods is an impressive album to call it quits.

I don't want them to reunite. They put out 7 excellent albums and many people (fans and critics) considered them the best rock band in the world. Don't fuck with that legacy.

There is nothing wrong with reunions if they are handled correctly. SG reunion is a great thing...even The Pixies one was pretty cool too and they didnt make new music.
Im guessing SK has a lot of music left to do, and they did a good thing in breaking up and doing other stuff too...maaaybe in a couple of yeaaars.....

Lets also not forget, they almost called it quits BEFORE the Woods... luckily they already had played Entertain for a year or so live and wanted to put that out before going on hiatus.
Think it might be a Janet bands day at work... made 3 mix cds full of SK/WF/Quasi/The Jicks (and only used SK songs she was the drummer on obviously)

I did a 12 track mix like this once, it was pretty great:
Repulsion Something Came Over Me Light Rail Coyote Racehorse Steep Air Out Of Reaches Romance When The Going Gets Dark Rollercoaster Bye Bye Blackbird What's Mine Is Yours Black Tiles
