Thanks Kevin, I'm enjoying this enough to explore further.

Miles Davis made a lot of great music.

I think I own more music by Miles Davis than anyone else (unless you count all my damn Pearl Jam bootlegs) -- truly one of the all-time greats. Here's a somewhat hidden (to the extent that any of Miles's music is "hidden" anymore) gem that I've always counted among his best tracks:

That was more than excellent. Thank you.

Can't wait to dive into this, KD.

Makes my offering of Money Jungle that I just came here to post seem meager by comparison.

why does this entire genre need only 1 thread? there are like 82 different kinds of jazz

does it only need one thread because we are honkey ignorami?

its something like this...So the presentation and rollout of Both Directions at Once: The Lost Album signals the deepening enshrinement of an image that just happens to be some form of the truth. In the end, it makes little difference whether or not this superlative clutch of material amounts to a "lost album" or something messier and less conclusive. What really matters is the seeking, as Coltrane always understood...you should listen to it 8-)..its a pursuit of heroic epiphany.

Oh, I fully admit my ignorance. I have no idea how old the guy I saw was and didn't know if it could've been the same guy.
