The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I've been on an Octopus's Garden binge for the last few days. Seeing George and Ringo working on it on acoustic guitar and piano brought out a melancholy dimension I'd never picked up on before. Been trying to find a cover on Spotify that captures it, but it's all kids music.

This looks great i'm going to give it a try....and i never considered Don't Let Me Down & Ballad because they had been released as singles before but i guess there is precedent for that happening so they should be fair game.

Yeah, it's a sort of thought experiment that considers the Beatles never breaking up and going straight into another record after Abbey Road (so some of those songs were never released as singles). I totally get not wanting to include them, though. I struggled with that, too.

Paul and John would never green light this: too many Harrison contributions.
Yeah, I was thinking that IF you wanted to go for a more realistic album, you should drop one Harrison and add in a Ringo song. But I still think it's a solid "lost album" as is. Good work.

I read somewhere that a month or so prior to John leaving the band both he and George approached Paul suggesting the songwriting share going forward. So if that was the case at least John was for it...Paul not so much. But this album was created out of the fantasy that Paul said yes and the band had at least one more album in them.

I definitely need to find one Ringo song to add to the playlist but i can't part with those Harrison songs. I get the internal band politics but for me George had the best material at the time.
this thread should now be 200 pages after get back. ffs, we really dropped the ball here considering it's the greatest pop culture achievement since like roots. i blame myself.
