The 8CD/1DVD boxset will cost around 60-70$.
Not too bad for 9 discs...

Oh wow. I never got into REM to the extent that some of you have but the box looks awfully sweet.

So I am not an R.E.M. fan at all, but having listened to all the episodes of R U Talkin R.E.M. RE: ME? multiple times and hearing snippets of all their songs, I recently made a playlist of all the songs that sounded appealing to me, and I must say that I am loving it pretty hard.

1. So. Central Rain
2. Undertow
3. Texarkana
4. The One I Love
5. Losing My Religion
6. Ignoreland
7. Man on the Moon
8. Sweetness Follows
9. New Test Leper
10. Orange Crush
11. Find the River
12. Be Mine
13. Let Me In
14. Leave
15. Drive
16. Circus Envy
17. Oddfellows Local 151

"Oddfellows Local 151" might be my favorite R.E.M. song.

I love this post. Leave, New Test Leper, and Undertow are probably all top 10 REM songs for me. Sweetness Follows has always been my favorite. Several others in there are great too.

A few others I love hearing:

Low Desert
Discoverer
Living Well is the Best Revenge
Houston
Crush With Eyeliner
Bang and Blame
Mine Smell Like Honey
Alligator_Aviator_Autopilot_Antimatter

I will say I didn’t include any songs from Accelerate because I actually like most of that album and already made my own 8-track version of it, so that’s a separate thing.

I like these songs so much that there’s a decent chance I might slowly start getting into more, but a lot of their other songs seem pretty unexciting. I dunno. We’ll see.

Yeah I love that one. You can definitely tell it's Cobain's guitar. What a great sound.

Im ready to dive into this band again after such a long hiatus from it.
Im still blown away at their career and the show i saw back in 2008 was one of the best shows i saw in my life. Stipe had such a powerful presence. It felt so fucking real and emotional it was hard to see.

I miss them and at the same time im glad they closed their career like they did.

Bummed I never saw REM. I didn’t take a real interest in them until they were on the last two albums and never had a real opportunity to see a show at that point.

Crap, I think I saw The National and Modest Mouse open for them around 2008. Can that be right or am I confusing things?

How does it feel when you're R.E.M.?
It feels GOOD!

nope, you're spot on. that was the last time i saw them. johnny marr (who was with modest mouse at the time) came out and played on a couple tunes in the encore, too.

Yeah, I saw this show at MSG. It was pretty solid.

The playlist above is excellent but beware that all R.E.M. playlists by law must conclude with It’s the End of the World As We Know It.
