From one of the trusted regular posters on the Steve Hoffman (audiophile) forum:

It’s coming out later this year. Bertis Downs and Chris Hartstonge (who is one of their archivists) have both confirmed that on Facebook in recent days. They’ve begun to tease it on the R.E.M. Facebook groups.

Awesome! Im expecting many demos, outtakes and alternate versions for this one. There are no liveshows for this album unless they go for another one from the Monster tour.

Yeah, New Adventures in HiFi is one of those desert island albums for me. Exciting.

The 5.1 mix is the only thing that makes my eyes pop. But since I don’t have a 5.1 setup, I’ll just go with the single LP.

not surprising there isn't much extra material to be had here. even a hi-res and 5.1 mix has been issued before. nice to see them throw out leave as the first track to promote the reissue, though.

considering that the majority of the original songs were recorded live, i'm not sure what value there is to adding live versions of the same songs
