There was also that Starring Down the Barrel of the Middle Distance songs from those same shows.

Honestly neither is as good as anything that made it onto accelerate.

Joey, have you heard this?

Their last single (from a GH compilation) which is a really good song and doubly compelling when you know it's their last song

the story of the video is that Stipe just grabbed Kirsten Dunst (I think they live in the same building) and filmed her reaction as he sang the song to her

They did another video, with poet John Giorno.

'Sing For The Submarine' is utterly brilliant, and easily my favourite from 'Accelerate'.

I love songs that deal with the future, dreams etc. Love this one.

That was my favorite on first listen as well.

I've heard the song before but I haven't seen this video.

I make weird connections sometimes, but this one always makes me think of the movie "Synecdoche, New York" for some reason.

I love this version of Sing for the Submarine (inside a grain silo).

I think my favorite from Accelerate was always Horse to Water. They don't really have many songs with that kind of intensity (even on Accelerate).

IMO, "We All Go Back..." is better than anything on Collapse Into Now

I could get on board with this. At least, it's a perfect song to bow out with.

It's a cute little ditty but I'm not sure I find it as compelling as you chaps do. I think most of its charm is in its context.

There are elements that feel not only cheesy but almost funny. These elements are compounded by watching that Kirsten Dunst video.

I've only listened to "We All Go Back..." two or three times since its release, I think. The new songs on Part Lies... didn't really wow me.

I think it's beautiful, and the Bacharach orchestration really does it for me

I'm listening to it now for the first time since it first came out. It's lovely, and way different than I had remembered it in my head. I am most struck by how much older Stipe sounds, even in the short time since "Collapse."

I don't particularly love the videos. I'm just a sucker for orchestration and I love how it's used here. Stipe sounds older, more mature but it works for this song, and I just adore the "I can taste the ocean on your skin" line :heartbeat:

That little guitar bit before the final chorus is tremendous, too.

Stipe sounds like he recorded the vocals for "We All Go Back..." while on his back
