Hi-Fi is the only REM album that I'd call a masterpiece. Reveal is bottom of the pile for me. But Hi-Fi is genuinely brilliant, start to finish. One of the best records of all time.

i agree with Hi Fi being a masterpiece but i also feel there are others as good as that one.

Monster for example.

got my ship notice for the bundle. i'm actually kind of excited to have an r.e.m. hoodie. good to see a positive review on the vinyl.

r.e.m. are one of the few bands i have og vinyl for all of their records. that said, putting money down for around the sun was painful.

Sometimes I think "Imitation of Life" is my favorite REM song

Of all the "albums reimagined" nonsense, the tremelo-less mix is probably the worst idea I've ever heard that's been marketed for release.

sorry, I was on your team, agreeing with you. I don't want a tremelo-less mix ever at all. Get THAT out of here.

My New Adventures order keeps getting bumped - it was supposed to be sent out last Friday and it didn't arrive, so I checked and the release date from the place I'd ordered it changed to this Friday, checked just now and it's been bumped to next Friday. Fuck!!!

this remaster really makes it sound fresh and new. very tastefully done without losing any of the original elements.

Probably won't get a chance to listen to it till tomorrow now though - wife is working from home today too, and she hates R.E.M. - then I've got training tonight. I'm just glad that it's finally here
