I did some trimming of my collection over the weekend, which usually results in me throwing on a few albums under the premise of not remembering what they sound like and therefore relegating them in my mind to being dump-worthy. Pursuant to this process, I listened to NYC Ghosts and Flowers for the first time in a few years, and loved it. I always love this album when I play it, but never remember it after I play it, so I rarely feel compelled to throw it on. But there's some beautiful stuff on it.

Probably their most divisive album?
I was listening to 80s Glenn Branca yesterday. I always knew he was an influence on early SY, but the extent of that really hit home. Daydream Nation could easily be described as Branca with hooks and drums.
