Spent the last couple of days listening to her. As Jorge mentioned, I feel like some of the music is pretty terrible in spots. That fucking ridiculous guitar solo in Desire basically ruins the song. And the music on After You is straight out of Radio Disney. Still, Monster is a great song and Curbstomp, Adelaide and Poison are very good.

I can totally dig what she's doing. I've only listened to the clips on the first page. But I really liked Desire and I goddamn LOVE Monster. Yeah, I think I'll be keeping tabs.

Thanks, Lament!

Now that this is finally out, it's making the world a more tolerable place for me, at least at the moment...

I heard Monster on Cinemax's "Banshee", loved it, and bought her two EPs off iTunes... and while I like them both, I think you nailed it but it's probably more a function of her not being able to afford an A+ producer than the compositions being bad. We all know what the wrong producer can do to a band...

Bump!

Spun all of her stuff last night. Did a full on "let's actually listen" session with everything she has on Spotify. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I ordered a copy of her album Sorry on vinyl. I'm kinda bummed that it took me this long to really dive in. But I'm in all the way now.

Thanks for the heads up, Lament.

What's with Adelaide being used so regularly as a, or within, song titles?

Ooh she said "fuck" in a song, and I kind of want to fuck her. Maybe I'll buy an album!

I don't like your tone, tragbigzanda.

Still exploring and diving in. But here's my first ranking of her songs that I've heard. I'm sure I'll do this a lot over the next year or so. But here's where we're at right now:

Heart Heart Head
The Morning After
Go
Monster
Desire
Feather
Lemon Eyes
Adelaide
Make a Shadow
Sorry
Curbstomp
Tennessee
Parade
I Really Want You to Hate Me
Motel
Poison
After You
A Bolt From the Blue

I wasn't over the moon for the first couple of singles from the new record. But now that I've had a chance to spin the whole thing several times... I really dig it. It's a grower, for sure. I'm totally into TMttD now. Solid record. This chick can wail.

I still spin Lemon Eyes every once in a while.
