If you think Sigur Ros counts, Sigur Ros counts.

alright so this seems to be the right place to post a couple ambassadors of Québec's (sort of) traditionnal music:

Alain Lamontagne - a harmonica virtuoso and also a podorythmist

Spoiler: show

Les Charbonniers de l'Enfer - a vocal (and podorythmic) ensemble. they are absolutely awesome live. their latest is a covers album on which they interpret Neil Young and Noir Désir among others.

Spoiler: show

Thread is fucked, someone post some world music :gomez:

Jorge, would you be offended if I put some timbales and congas in here? South America is kind of 'world' for me.

Sure. I love salsa, mambo, bachata and the like. Merengue, too, to a lesser extent. Also some kinds of cumbia (original Colombian cumbia, not the shitty synthesized modern version).

Here's "Pedro Navaja", the "Stairway to Heaven" of salsa music.

Also this.

I also have a soft spot for vallenato, but I reckon that's just from growing up in the coast of Colombia.

I quite enjoy this album. Unfortunately, I've not really made any effort to get deeper into MPB than this release. I've tracked down a few other Nascimento songs, but none have measured up to the wealth of stuff on Clube da Esquina.
