I'll never get a copy . I always lose out in the RSD crowds.
I’ll see what I can do for ya then!
Thanks friend. I do see that it's a RSD first release, so maybe that means it'll be available to everyone later?
Usually, yeah. I can always look for it for you as well. I have a pretty small town record store that stocks a lot on RSD, and only mildly more business than any other day. We'll coordinate with strat closer to the time though.

"What you have here are songs written and recorded at home over a two year period that followed a much longer period of performing, traveling, and explaining. Cut mostly live in the middle of the night, no effort was made to fix what some may deem as mistakes; tape running out, fluffed lyrics, flat, notes, extraneous noises, etc. Many were written (or born if you will) as the tape rolled.
Unprofessional? Perhaps. Real? Unquestionably. "

Strat, I listen to your Spotify playlist you made for me frequently and I love it. I just haven't ventured outside of it and I need to.
A side note, I just recently learned that if you download music to listen to offline on Spotify, like I do when I'm traveling, it doesn't record how many times you listen to that music even if you are online. Not that I really care but I bet it would alter my end of year stats.

It really is perfect. Wish he'd put out another proper solo effort. I'd take something on par with Folker or Come Feel Me Tremble
Im so glad you are here, Verb. Otherwise i'd be so alone.
I wish there was more to say. There just aren't any words really. Stereo/Mono is perfect. I was a senior in high school when this came out and I listened to it. A lot. I listened to some crappy music in high school too, but I always look back with a certain amount of pride that my 17 year old self was so drawn to this record. Same thing with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot actually.
I don't know why Paul won't give us any more music. This was so authentic, raw, and pure that Folker and CFMT did feel a little flat as they followed though.
Listening to the Plimsouls. They are really a proto-Replacements. They just arrived too soon. Before college music was a thing. It's a shame they were good. If you like the Replacements maybe you'll dig these guys.
Okay you idiots. The greatest rock n roll band is putting out a new mix of their best Album this friday. Tim.
I've mentioned a bit recently or over the years that "Production isnt the main driving force for me when listening to music" . This album has always been my least favorite rock album of all time but also my favorite album of theirs.
SOunds like THIS is what it was meant to sound like and I couldnt be more thrilled. They have released a couple of snippets and oh baby.....
I never gave them the time of day, despite my friends being massive fans, so much so you can hear them in their own bands. Anyway, I checked out Tim last week and absolutely fell in love. Super excited to hear the new mix.
No way its being released as a standalone right? Just part of a box set?

I absolutely love Tim, one of my favorite albums, I honestly never minded the weird muddy mixing, I got so used to it that listening to the new one feels almost disorienting.
But yeah the new mix is insane, there is so much more going on in these tracks, the guitars sound wonderful. "Waitress in the sky" is maybe the biggest improvement for me, or "Little Mascara", always loved that song but damn it sounds good here.
Also love to have yet another new version of "Can't Hardly Wait" to make me weep (the cello one).

Not even a casual fan* but I A/B’d the mixes last night and the biggest improvement to me is how much more immediate PW’s voice is. You can really hear his throat working and it’s extremely effective.
As for everything else, meh. I totally get why you love this if you’re a diehard fan! There’s something subversively charming I like about the original mix. Reminds me of the first Mission of Burma stuff in some ways.
*I don’t dislike the Replacements at all. Just haven’t ever taken the full dive into their discography.
