I like If It Was You a lot. They found their own voice and stopped trying to write Ani DiFranco-type anthems.

Took my daughter to see them live at an outdoor thing. They were way better than I expected- turned us into fans although my daughter fell asleep while we were there :|

I definitely recommend everybody check out their short film States, part of their Grammy-nominated Get Along film/live album collection. It's a beautiful film. Directed by RM's own Windedsailor!

Great show. Great Band. The highlight for me was a stripped-down, Sara-requested, acoustic Nineteen. Apparently Tegan had just been working on a new version that day and was planning it for tomorrow's L.A. show, but Sara put her on the spot and requested it in front of the audience. It was fucking sublime. The Heartthrob songs were shockingly good. I had watched some vids where Tegan really struggled with the vocals to the new songs, but she was pitch-perfect all night. Love this fucking band.

Sorry for the mediocre pics, I only took 5 photos.

I'm guessing they'll play the Oscars broadcast. Should be fun.

Tegan And Sara’s Sara Quin Scores Clea Duvall’s The Intervention

Sara Quin of Tegan And Sara has composed her first film score for actress Clea Duvall’s directorial debut The Intervention, which premiered today at the Sundance Film Festival, The Wrap reports. “It was an incredibly exciting opportunity to score Clea Duvall’s excellent film,” Quin says. “The greatest challenge for me was ensuring I wasn’t diminishing the impact of the clever and heartfelt dialogue spoken throughout. I enjoyed trying to marry my own pop aesthetic to a more organic instrumentation that felt appropriate to the film, and I learned a lot about subtraction and ‘less is more.'” The Intervention follows four couples who plan a weekend getaway in an attempt to stage a “marriage intervention,” and the film stars Duvall herself alongside Melanie Lynskey, Cobie Smulders, Natasha Lyonne, Vincent Piazza, Jason Ritter, Ben Schwartz, and Alia Shawkat.

New single is not good.

I really like "U-Turn" though.
