The first demo by the band when they were known as Public Affection. If you were ever a fan of +Live+ and haven't heard this (or only ever heard it in the crappy quality it circulated in in the 90's) you should check this out - very interesting listen with some great REM-tinged songs up there with anything on Mental Jewelry (Saviour For A Day, Who Put The Fear In Here?, Ball and Chain), some absolute cringe even by +Live+'s standards (Paper Flowers, Morning Humor) and a song that is either a clumsy metaphor or about incest (Sister).

Enjoy! :D

PUBLIC AFFECTION - THE DEATH OF A DICTIONARY (1989)
===================================================

'The Death of a Dictionary' is the debut demo album by alternative rock band Public Affection. An EP titled 'Divided Mind, Divided Planet' followed before the band changed their name to +Live+ in 1991.

The album was released in June 1989, when the band members graduated from high school, via their own label, Action Front Records. Just 1,000 copies were made, all on cassette. The track 'Good Pain' was eventually reworked for inclusion on the first Live EP 'Four Songs', and their debut album 'Mental Jewelry'. Aside from 'Good Pain', the remainder of the songs are still only available on this cassette. Poor quality cassette rips of 'The Death of a Dictionary' have circulated widely on the internet and unofficial silver CD bootlegs since the mid-90's, however this is the first time that a clean cassette rip has been remastered (huge thanks to mattdm11 and Johnny), providing fans with the best quality version ever available - enjoy!

Ed Kowalczyk (credited as "Zedd") – lead vocals, rhythm guitar
Chad Taylor – lead guitar, backing vocals
Patrick Dahlheimer – bass
Chad Gracey – drums
