About a year ago I got 3 LPs in a box from Amazon with no padding or bubble wrap or anything--just three LPs sliding around in a box. I thought that was the worst it could get, but today I got an LP from Amazon that was literally just in a plastic bag. Appears to be ok, maybe a few dings on the corners. But come on.
The trick with Amazon is to mark any vinyl purchase as a "gift" when you order, and then the idiots at the warehouse will put it inside another box to hide it from the potential recipient. Otherwise you run the risk of them slapping a shipping label right on the record itself, which they are notorious for doing.

This is a really cool idea, it’s now unviable to buy any Lps outside Australia due to shipping but still a good trick to know.
I hadn’t bought any vinyl since 2018. I thought I had too many records and starting cataloguing them on Discogs in an attempt to sell ones I might not play. I did list a few, but it backfired and now I have a want list and have bought a few more in the past weeks
So many records have been reissued since I last was keeping track!

Also, I received my copy of Mink Car by TMBG in the mail yesterday. It's the first time the album has had a vinyl release. It's a very underrated (some might say forgotten) TMBG record and I'm so fucking stoked to add it to my collection.
It's pressed on a really lovely opaque white vinyl. Looks gorgeous. Haven't spun it yet but I'm sure it sounds great. All the releases from the TMBG official site have been aces.

I just got notified that an album I pre-ordered on August 4th 2021, is about to ship! A shipping label was created today!
I'm getting charged for this week for 2 LPs I ordered on October 1, 2020. Should ship soon!
It's all coming together!
Incidentally, the little section of my spreadsheet where I enter orders in before they arrive has a chance of being empty for the first time in a year and a half come next week. I have 5 LPs on the way that I'm super excited for.

Fingers crossed for you buddy!
But how long will that section stay empty?
I'm trying to buy an XBox, do maybe a couple of weeks!

Wish I had listened, got an LP today with a severely bent corner (like, bent all the way to the edge of the vinyl). Convinced Amazon to refund without me returning the item, so hopefully the vinyl is ok.
