nice get ST
Got The Breeders All Nerve. Vinyl is mastered by Bob Weston, cut at Pallas. Sounds absolutely amazing even on my very modest setup. Can’t wait to hear it on a nice rig down the line.

Three Prince albums just went live on VMP: Controversy, 1999, and Sign O’ the Times (all three available as a bundle). Will probably sell out within an hour.

and they're only curated picks, not vmp exclusives, that can be found elsewhere for less. amazon has 1999 for $29. target has their own sign o' the times exclusive for $32.

Alright i need some advise. Pretty much decided that i've got some money to burn (and time on my hands) so i'm going to get a setup and start collecting.
Some very basic question about a setup...
The turntable i'm looking at right now does not have a preamp. For the time being at least i'm planning on hooking it up to my a/v receiver (Denon AVR-S950H). The receiver has phono inputs but from what i gather these are probably garbage and i'm going to want a preamp. Assuming i go this route, and run the turntable thru a preamp then into the receiver i assume i dont end up using the phono stereo inputs but should use another stereo rca input on the receiver?

I would probably try the phono inputs first, if they're rubbish and you get a preamp - run them through one of the other inputs - otherwise the sound will be rubbish

Thanks! Are the phono inputs on these a/v receivers ever any good? I assume they would mostly be ignored.

Any recommendations if i go the preamp route?
Sorry - when I was using a preamp, it was a shitty cheap thing. These days I'm using the phono inputs since upgrading my receiver

Somehow only just added Nevermind to my collection today. I have had 2 copies of In Utero for years, but never pulled the trigger on this for some reason.
