The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I think the only thing on the list that interested me was Jonathan Richman.
I missed the early opening but was still able to get this. They also had one copy of the RATM left, and it seems like it's going to be pretty hard to get, so i snagged that.
I forgot there was an M. Ward reissue out today, too, but my local had none left.

So I'd done some research before buying this. Some of the people over on the Hoffman forum complained that despite being an AAA product, the new master was much too bright. "How bad could it be?" I thought.
Turns out they're right. It's not criminal, but it's noticeably brighter than older versions. Those cymbals especially are PING PING PINGing me. For $32 it'll be just fine for now, but one day I'll have to get my hands on an older pressing. And if you've already got one you're happy with, you can probably skip this.
I think I got it for...$14.99 used? It still has the price tag on the poly sleeve, I can check later. I didn't know what I bought, just thought it was cool that it came with posters--it wasn't until I checked it on Discogs that I realized it was a steal.
Casually ordered this from my local shop like five months ago (as in “yeah if you can ever get your hands on it, I’d buy it.”) They called today to say they were able to get me a single sealed copy for $25! Didn’t even realize they had followed through on this, am just overjoyed.

So my turntable has been in the shop getting repaired since last year, and yesterday when I called about it - they told me that there was nothing they could do.....so now I shop for a new one

I was on the list to call.....apparently. The motor's gone, and with it being a really old beast they were having trouble tracking down replacement parts or something or nothing....

Were they just never going to call you about it??
That's a customer service technique that I've experienced many times in my life.
"When will you be done with my car?" - It's done. "When are you going to get record I pre-ordered?" - It's here. "Where am I on the wait list?" - We have some openings today.
Fuck people.
