also, josh's wife came out earlier and played a couple of songs on her own, one of which was misfits' hybrid moments. 8-)

This album knocked me out when it first came out, but I have to say that while I still think it’s a very good album, I now find it very disjointed and uneven – and no other QOTSA album feels that way.

I realized I wish that it had been split into separate projects. Josh Homme should have released “The Vampyre of Time and Memory,” “Kalopsia,” “I Appear Missing,” and “…Like Clockwork” as a solo EP. Then, “If I Had a Tail,” “My God is the Sun,” and “Smooth Sailing” should have been used for the next proper QOTSA album, while “Keep Your Eyes Peeled,” “I Sat by the Ocean,” and “Fairweather Friends” (probably the worst QOTSA song ever) should have been relegated to B-side status.

Disagree.. I love how those uneven songs flow together

I do agree on Fairweather friends being.. well maybe not so much their worst ever.. but it's definitely the weak link to this album

It's so aimlessly busy and overstuffed. I can't figure out what the hell is going on in that song.

Fairweather Friends is awesome. I wonder how much our man Lanegan actually had to do with the writing of it...

Fair weather Friends is really good. I don't find it "busy" at all. The end is one of the best parts of the album.

All of the songs on this record are at least 8/10.
