David Byrne - Everything That Happens Will Happen Today

This dude's post-Talking Heads work is unbelievable.

Man I need to revisit this. Spun it a couple times when it came out then moved on, but really dug it.

You should probably get it on vinyl just to be sure.

This is an all time top 10 album for me. One of the greatest debut albums of all time.

I've only heard their first two albums so far, but they're fantastic. I just discovered that YouTube music has Shock of Daylight and Heads and Hearts but they're miscategorized, so I'm looking forward to checking them out today.

It's a damn shame these guys didn't get the attention they deserved. They're right up there with the best post punk has to offer.

Burt, I wonder if you'd enjoy Kevin Drew's new album (under the name K.D.A.P.). I get some Tycho-like vibes from a few of the songs:

Tycho is one of those artists who so perfectly melds things I already love that the final product feels empty, like the minimalist beats + cool production + nostalgic vibes have somehow phase cancelled each other out to nothingness.

Just can’t get into those records despite their being perfect on paper.

I listened to him a lot for a while then forgot he existed. Good song and i get the Tycho vibes. I'll have to catch up.

I get this. I do enjoy Tycho, but there's a certain sterility to a lot of his music that makes anything deeper than surface-level appreciation difficult. I get the same kind of feeling from latter day El Ten Eleven.
