Everybody give your local elementary/middle school a call--they're probably doing an "adopt a kid" thing where they'll give you a list of things that a kid likes (ex. "Frozen," Legos, Batman), and you can buy them and they'll send it off. Oh, and get gloves, socks, and winter hats, too!

I've been up and down on the guy for years. I liked Shellac in high school, particularly 1000 Hurts, and I have enjoyed albums he's produced. But I've also found myself shaking my head at some of his takes, and then other times thinking "this guy's alright." In many ways, he's a lot like Trag

there is a species of albini fan -- reactionary, conversant in philosophy, awed by transgression, thoroughly solipsistic -- that i fucking hate. maybe more than any other kind of art fan.
