The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

Epic lightning storm on my drive home tonight. Traffic lights out of power and blinking red to a rhythm. Everything synching up to the spare, bare chords beneath "The End of Radio".

Opening track on their new one is called WSOD, which apparently stands for World Series of Dick-Sucking. That fact plus the brief instrumental clip they released has me so excited for this thing.

I don't know that it's the most talked about album in Albini's engineering discography, but I've been listening to Lifestyle by Silkworm for the last few days. It's so good.

What do you love about it?
They remind me of Pavement. also, the drums sound great. that's no joke, either.

I hate the Pavement comparisons to skwm. I get it, but, ugh, no. Have you checked out the Crust Brothers disc. It's them playing a bunch of covers with Steve M and it's pretty damn great.
Lifestyle is an easy top 5 record of all time for me.

I do love the drum sound on this record, the kick in particular. But I tend to agree that it always sounded like a slightly edgier Pavement.
A more talented, significant Pavement. I hate that slacker gen x bullshit that band just oozes. But note, I'm a heavy Pavement detractor. They've never done for me.
I did catch one of those Central Park reunion shows in '10 and really enjoyed it. Groudned was my fav that night.
