Wait, no. Actor came out before that, and I got that album the year it came out. But that video may have been the first thing that made me go "holy shit".

Dude, I LOVED her performance with Nirvana. First thing I ever saw / heard from her. Outstanding.
The first solo thing I ever saw from her was this amazing performance of Tom Waits's "Big Black Mariah"
OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!
Did you post this before? I remember seeing this video somewhere a couple of years ago and I LOVED it! I was obsessed with that video. But I'd completely forgotten the artists doing the cover.
I picked up a copy of St Vincent on vinyl this past Sunday and I should be getting Strange Mercy today. I'm gonna spin those two records like my life depends on it.

So 15 seconds in she says "my band is called St Vincent". So fuck all of you who give people shit for calling St Vincent a band.

Caught the second half of her set at electric picnic this weekend...yeah, i'm not buying it. I can see why some would love her, but it's she's reaching far and not getting there at all to my mind. It's all very affected and pretentious, if she just left the theatrics out and played the songs, it might be interesting. 2/10
