The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
She was a lot more "hard rock" than I expected her to be in concert, that's prob what surprised me the most. I mean this chick can jam--plan on exploring her albums a bit more this weekend.

Anyone see or comment on her performance with Nirvana?
Dude, I LOVED her performance with Nirvana. First thing I ever saw / heard from her. Outstanding.
You've got some catching up to do!
I really, really do.
Any recommendations on where to start?
Just go chronologically. Either start with Marry Me, or the 3 song Paris Is Burning single, which has a fabulous version of These Days as a b-side.
Def. check out some good quality youtube performances... That will give you more of an idea of what she can do with a guitar. I've seen nothing that can compare, except maybe Tom Morrello.

So happy that people are starting to realize how brilliant the St. Vincent albums/performances are.
Been in to her for a good number of years now, I would definitely suggest newbies just go through the albums chronologically, there's a really great progression of sounds & writing from one to the next.
Here is my opinion of her best songs:
1. Marrow 2. Cheerleader 3. Surgeon 4. Your Lips Are Red 5. Lightning (David Byrne & St. Vincent album) 6. Every Tear Disappears 7. Cruel 8. Laughing With a Mouth of Blood 9. Save Me From What I Want 10. Ice Age (David Byrne & St. Vincent album) 11. Digital Witness 12. Year of the Tiger 13. Prince Johnny
She had the set of the weekend at Pitchfork. My first time seeing her live and it exceeded all expectations, which admittedly were already fairly high.

Not sure how much she varies her setlists from night to night, but here's what she played in Brooklyn (8/09):
The only thing I was hoping to hear that I didn't get was Chloe in the Afternoon. But I'm not complaining. The entire set was money. And besides, it just gives me another reason to keep seeing her live. Like I need another reason.
