It's an early contender for best track on the record, for sure.

I want a full piano - driven - crooning - ballads type of album after this one and the NY version she is playing live.

I want her to keep doing whatever the fuck she wants. I'm spellbound.

Two of them! And one of the Johnnys was a prince!

Well, three technically. If that's the game we're playing. She tried to marry one, too.

I loved the tracks up to and including Los Ageless in my first listen, I'm not sure yet if the rest lives up to those. Not a fan of the ballads.
That closer is probably the best track though.

This album is a real mixed bag. She's taking some good risks, but then a fair amount of it sounds like dull pop songwriting with a bunch of pointless effects on them.

Pills is still my favorite; the Antanoff song is garbage.

First pass through, there were only a handful of songs on this album that really perked my ears up, "Happy Birthday Johnny" and "Slow Disco" most specifically. There are certainly a wealth of musical ideas here but overall I think she's just onto something now that I'm not into; thematically, musically, artistically, this stuff just doesn't speak to me. But I'm glad it didn't let Joe down.

Isn't "Pills" an Antonoff song?

I don't think so. If so then that'd be the first Antanoff song I've ever liked.

Yup, it is. Antonoff co-wrote 4 tracks on the album according to the liner notes, including "Pills"

4 tracks as a cowriter. He is co-producer on the whole record.

Welp, I'll gladly eat some crow on this one.

Los Ageless to Fear the Future might be the strongest consecutive run in her entire catalog, so far. Jesus those five songs! :luv:

Hmm I think the album gets considerably weaker after Los Ageless but I need more listens.

So glad you're liking it this much though, Joey.
