I don't really get the term mumble rap? Is it used purely to describe trap? If so I don't think it applies.

It’s a very dumb term that I assume was made up by old losers

It was pretty much like this one place I go to I have buddies and they would play future and a bunch of other new guys all night on the jukebox.. I thought it was just me, but the whole time I was thinking man these dudes just mumble all their lyrics

And then I saw the term mumble rap on the Internet and I was assured it's not just me who thinks that

Throw in the auto tune I can't understand a word they were saying

Speaking of which, I heard the machine gun Kelly (who doesn't mumble) response and it wasn't half bad until the part where the auto tune kicks in and made it tough to take seriously

I've tried to listen to this album twice in the last couple days. Glad to hear that Em has some decent beats again, but holy shit I don't care about his angry why guy routine at all any more

First 3 tracks are very good, Joyner Lucas spits straight fire on his verse on Lucky You. Stepping Stones, Not Alike, and Fall are decent. Those 6 songs with the two Paul/Em skits would have been a really solid little album.

He's still a really good rapper, but he doesn't have enough to say to make it worth putting out full albums at this point. I think he'd be better off focusing on guest verses where his skills will still stand out and feel refreshing on somebody else's track.

Revival was trash without a single track that will get any play from me ever again. The first 3 tracks will fit comfortably on a gym playlist for awhile I think.

I like almost no angry music at this point.

Just not angry. I like depressing music for instance.
