I can see why Trag wants to put Shellac and The Jesus Lizard under the post-rock umbrella; Slint gets put there all the time, and they're no more similar to Mogwai, Tortoise, Explosions in the Sky, et al than those other two.

Speaking of, it's nice to see another Tortoise fan on the board.

Yea! TNT, Standards, and It's All Around You are some of my favorite records, and definitely some of the best music to soundtrack my getting a lot of work done. Beacons of Ancestorship was disappointing, hoping they'll get back to doing more organic stuff on the next one.
