I was certain we had a thread like this, but I searched a couple different ways and couldn't find it.
I just stumbled upon the Red Hot Chili Peppers song "Universally Speaking", which I hadn't listened to in a long-ass time. And I realized I actually really like it, even though I normally can't stand the RHCPs.
What's a song you like by an artist you normally dislike?

"Exhausted" from the first album for me. And a good chunk of other songs from the next couple albums, actually. I don't dislike the Foos, I just think they're tiresome

There's an extremely popular Mexican band called Maná, they're the epitome of pop-rock blandness, just an absolutely horrible band. But they have this one song from their MTV Unplugged that's a salsa arrangement of an old Mexican ranchera ballad. I like it because it sounds nothing like them, and also they didn't even write it.

Not for me.
One of the most confounding bands of all time. On one end of the spectrum are tracks like Exhausted and Good Grief; on the other end you have The Sky Is A fucking Neighborhood.

This is the polar opposite for me, being a song by a band I largely enjoy which I actively loathe.
This isn't some contrarian thing, I just really can't stand that awful, cloying melody.

Nails on a blackboard stuff.
I'm middle of the road on that track. The drum-and-bass thing is really plodding, but I love their use of a Chamberlain on the bridge. I love Chamberlains. They are used so rarely, and they sound amazing on everything.

I love it. I love the melody and the bassline. It's got some Motown touches like the beat and the harmonies and those strings near the end. Give me this kind of stuff over ineffectual funk approximations with cringy lyrics about sex please
