The problem is that so many people look to them for some semblance of validation of their own opinions on music. They think it’s a personal affront if Pitchfolk gives a review that doesn’t match their view of an album. Everything that Pitchfork is today is based on the stock people put in it.

Having my common sense mistaken for a superiority complex is a price I'd be willing to pay if it meant not opening up my website to the kind of toxic, nutjob ranting posted over the last few pages here.
I agree 100% with bidding good riddance to online comment sections. What a failed experiment.
