Jonathan Lethem on Fear of Music.

Yeah, that's a stellar read. There seem to be some great books in that series, and some really really terrible ones. The Highway 61 Revisited one is a favorite, as is Exile on Mainstreet. In the Aeroplane is decent, if a little too busy romanticizing the scene to really dive into the album.

The Let it Be book, on the other hand, is straight up tedious....and you'll get more about Harvest in Shakey than you will in the Harvest book.

Also, all day today I was singing Don't Worry About the Government. :heartbeat:

Leave it to Colin Meloy. Does he use the word "pantaloons" or "parapet" at any point?

I haven't read the Replacement one, yet. From what I've heard, though, it's more about his experience discovering the band than it is about the album itself.

Nobody gives a shit, Meloy!

Why is it those kinds of things impress me more than anything else in technology?

I generally have no interest in live albums, but this is one of the few exceptions. Specifically the second disc. Holy shit.

How does it sound in comparison to "Stop Making Sense"?

Stop Making Sense isn't even in the same league.

Disc one is them at their quirkiest. Disc two is them at their funkiest. It's perfect.

The Name of This Band... has Adrian fucking Belew.
+ Stop Making Sense doesn't not.
= The Name of This Band is superior

I'm watching the Rome concert on You Tube (asplosion sound), but I think I'm on more of an Adrian Belew kick than a Talking Heads one right now.

Goddamn that guy.

Yeah that dude is something else. Whenever the camera shifts off of him I throw something at the screen. I need to stop doing that.

No, you shouldn't blame yourself. It's all on the cameraman, really.
