Their Best Of is great.

Listen to 13 and the s/t. Those are the only albums I have really digested and they both slay.

The new(ish) album is fantastic, perhaps even my favourite.

I adore Blur. 13, S/T, Think Tank, and The Magic Whip are all worth your time, but they are all quite different form one another.

13: This is almost their OK Computer, or perhaps their Vitalogy. A sprawling album full of songs of different styles that somehow fit together. Lots of odd little musical experiments abound. The first two songs on the record should tell you everything you need to know about its range.

S/T: This one is considerably more monochromatic in its tone, but it's a ball. Songs range from bouncy Britpop to odd, druggy-sounding experiments.

Think Tank: This one is an outlier in their catalog. Recorded in Morocco without their monster guitarist Graham Coxon, the band here relies on all sorts of exotic instrumentation. Songs range from the very tongue-in-cheek, to the heartbreaking, to the slight and off. Almost like the template for Gorillaz.

The Magic Whip: Their reunion record sort of takes elements from the last three records and throws them all into the pot.

Parklife gets a lot of love from fans, but I don't love it. The other albums have their strengths, but there's nothing there I ever feel the need to revisit.

Trag had me a little scared with his posts. I was thinking there might only be one or 2 more quality Blur albums for me to discover. I have found we tend to agree on music a lot... Luckily, I am totally digging The Great Escape, and I suspect I can probably get into the entire discography.

I find those older albums to be very good, but S/T basically distilled their strengths down into one awesome record.

They used to be very big in Europe in the early to mid 90s. Personally I got into them late. I preferred the self titled and 13 period, and played them heavily between 1997 and approximately 2001. Have seen them live twice, in 1999 and in 2013. Still respect them, but feel like they stopped making classics after 13.

Think Tank is the best album. It's pretty obvious.

Also Dev, make sure you check out Music Is My Radar and Don't Be, two stellar outtakes from sometime between 13 and Think Tank.

Also also, did you know Think Tank is one of the rare albums that has a secret song if you rewind the CD from track 1?
