Its multiple members from Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone I think it counts.

My contribution to this thread would just be a bunch of pedantic re-hashing of the histories of Dischord Records, K Records, Kill Rock Stars, etc. So let's just say I did that and you guys congratulate me on my knowledge of uncool late 90s/early aughts indie rock.

Zwan is more of a supergroup. I think they'd qualify as a fusion (based on Jorge's criteria) if James Iha was in there.

Let's talk about it.

I think maybe Audioslave doesn't count either since it's only Cornell from the other fusing group

I feel like it is high-profile enough to be interesting. There are definitely other instances of major bands absorbing a well-known additional member, which is adjacent to this conversation. This would be like Johnny Marr joining Modest Mouse, or maybe even Sammy Hagar joining Van Halen. Not exactly the same, but…in the neighborhood.

There's lots of in the neighborhood examples but a true fusion is tough.

I was thinking Porno for Pyros, but again, that might be more of a supergroup situation. Frankly, I'm not sure why I'm even posting this. *Submit*
