Age of Pleasure is very clearly Janelle Monáe's worst album but that's really a testament to how good everything else is, because it's still extremely enjoyable. It's obviously a groovy, sensuous summer album, and her singing is better than ever even if the songwriting itself seems to take a backseat to the vibe.
that's very much my take
it's a bit overtly sexual for my tastes, but I support its unabashedly queer and polyamorous existence

on second thought, I need to relisten to Dirty Computer because this may be better
- Jenny Lewis' "Joy'All" is cherry, so much that I just got the vinyl in the mail. - Whatever QOTSA was coming up with I knew I was gonna like, but damn this new one is awesome.
Honorable mention: Olivia Jean's "Raving Ghost" was fun, everyone should at least sample her take on Enya's "Orinico Flow"

I'll do the heavy lifting for you, old man:
This had me listening to way too much Enya today

Heard this on the local college station today, gonna check out the rest of the album asap
You're gonna love it
Man, not at all what I was expecting based on that one song. Much more rock, discordant guitar chords, quite heavy at times. I dig it but I also kind of want a whole country album like that one song.

Give Lenderman's solo album from last year a go. It's probably what you're after.
