All the songs I know of theirs are bad. I guess if I had to say something nice I'd say that their ripoff of Pachelbel's Canon in D is more transparent than most.
Not at all. I respect your opinion and glad you enjoy the war on drugs.
I can’t really divorce music from the production choices, and when I listen to TWOD, I hear a deluge of recent indie tropes just slathered on top of each other; but at the heart of it is, to my ears, a very forgettable song. I find nothing interesting about this song.
The Hayes song, at least to me, offers some commercial and formulaic choices that I can appreciate in a weird sort of way. The whole bro country thing is an interesting phenomenon to me, even if I hate every song I’ve heard from the genre. But the crisp, squashed production, the sampled drums, the dumb hook: I can kind of appreciate this stuff, and most vapid pop music, as a sort of commercial jig saw puzzle. When everything clicks together — the song, the production, the video, the artist’s brand identity — I can kind of step back and say “hey, not a bad effort at connecting with a particular market segment.”
I totally respect your alternative opinion and understand why none of this might make sense to you.
You're an idiot and you should feel bad about yourself.

Moves Like Jagger is a bonafide pop masterpiece
You obviously got a good night sleep. Feeling quite randy are ya?
It’s been on the “family dance party” playlist we use to get our daughter jumping around for over two years. I hear it at least once a week, sometimes five times. Not even remotely sick of it yet. Lots to enjoy about this song.
