Elvis Costello

You are a Colombian expat who turned your experience growing up in a bloody war into a weird fascination with a past-his-prime popular American songsmith. You’re bilingual and make a decent lasagna, and you may or may not have a threesome this weekend, you’re gonna play it by ear. Your cat died yet you still have the fortitude to make total strangers laugh on the Internet.

Bill Callahan

You're reading Airships by Barry Hannah, but it's an e-book version and you feel kind of guilty about it. You haven't actually been inside a real bookstore since 2018. Coffee used to be your identity but now it's just caffeine, and you're trying to cut back on caffeine. Your marriage and health are both fine.

Lol Reid, pitch perfect except I’d put quotes around “fine”

I love how the industry uses the term "dad rock" to make good guitar rock music seem uncool even tho the new trendy type of music they're trying to push completely sucks

Conversely, I love when Pitchfork says something like “this 23 year old underground rapper only ten other people have heard about just released the defining mixtape of his career.”

Either Way happens to be the name of a pensive 2007 tune by Wilco, a popular dad rock band.
